Advanced Specialty Certificate Fire Fighting.
Theoretical and practical course that enables the student to control and coordinate firefighting operations on board, with emphasis on organization, tactics and command. And it instructs you to handle the different types of extinguishers, hoses and types of spears, fire hydrants and self-contained breathing apparatus. Also, at the end of the course, will be trained to act in cases of fire of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels, rescue victims and fires in electrical panels among others.
The course is approved in Spain by the DGMM, General Directorate of the Merchant Navy and in the United Kingdom by the MCA, Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
Directed to captains, officers and crew with specific duties and assigned responsibilities in relation to cargo or cargo equipment in the vessel and in general to the personnel that is part of the intervention teams of emergency plans on board. It is also one of the specialty certificates needed to obtain the Recreational Craft Pattern (PPER).
The course is face-to-face and its duration is 24 hours, of which, 12 hours are of theoretical content and 12 hours of practical content.
Only 10% attendance of the theoretical part is allowed. The practical part must be completed in its entirety.
The course taught by Escola Port develops the theoretical part in the classrooms of the Vila Olímpica headquarters in Barcelona and the practical part in a field of fire in which different scenarios of all kinds of emergencies are recreated.
