The Port of Barcelona cable car is a facility that began operating in 1931. It was the work of Carles Buigas and links the Miramar (Montjuïc) with the port, seen in the foreground. In the background the tower of Jaume I, the destination and the highest point (107m) is seen in the photo which may have been taken from the tower of San Sebastián, which is the midpoint of the journey.

To the left of this great ship, docked at the Baleares dock, we can see the clock tower on an esplanade with few buildings. Currently the Cable car is a tourist attraction, although it was designed to unite Montjuïc with the maritime section for the Universal Exhibition of 1929.
