Miquel Marcé
The sea has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. Every summer, my family and I would rent motorboats to enjoy the sea together, an experience that I always looked forward to.
I remember the trips on the Golondrinas in the Port Vell of Barcelona, which we used to take frequently when we came to Barcelona. I was fascinated by seeing the bridge of those boats, so imposing compared to the small boats I was used to.
At the age of 17, I decided to take the first step and got my PNB, that was the beginning of a path that led me to make the sea my profession.
With the aim of expanding my knowledge and gaining practical experience, I had the opportunity to sail the Solent Channel, surrounding the Isle of Wight.
And as if life would come full circle, my first professional job at sea was precisely on the Golondrinas, those boats that aroused my curiosity as a child.
Since 2013 I have been part of the Port School Team, where I teach recreational nautical courses, helping future generations of sailors take their first steps with passion and confidence.
I enjoy transmitting my theoretical knowledge in a calm, patient and clear way, so that those who are starting out in the nautical world feel comfortable and motivated to continue learning.
