Sailing

Sailing allows you to enjoy a non-polluting way of traveling where the only audible noise is that of the wind and sea waves.

In this course, the crew will work as a team to learn how to get the most out of the sails and the wind, how to recognize where the wind is coming from and how to orient the sails according to the wind direction. At the end of the session, they will have essential notions of sailing and nautical vocabulary.

Basic notions of sailing.
Basic nomenclature.
Parts of the ship and sails.
Navigation maneuvers: hoisting sails, tacking, tacking and trimming.
Notions of maritime beaconing.
Essential knots.

Requirements

– DNI, NIE or Passport, in force.
– Be of legal age.
– Young people aged 12, accompanied by an adult.
– Young people aged 16, with parental authorization.

Recommendations

– The day of practice check the weather report and come in appropriate comfortable clothing.
– Don't forget sunscreen and a bottle of water.
– Be punctual, if you've never been to the Olympic Port, we'll explain how to get there.
– If you are a group of 5 or more, call us and we will schedule a course for you on the date you prefer.

Important

This course does not accredit you to steer recreational boats.

To sail a boat as a skipper you must have an official qualification such as a Navigation License or the PNB.
