You can be part of the navigation guard, lookout or wheelhouse of civilian ships.
This certificate will allow you to steer, for commercial purposes, boats up to 10 m in length and transport a maximum of 12 passengers in inland waters.

Navigation guard, lookout or wheelhouse of civilian ships.
Government of recreational boats up to 10 m long with up to 12 passengers, in inland waters.

Certificate approved in Spain by the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine complying with the Training Code of the STCW-78/10 Convention.

Theory: 45 hours

In air-conditioned classrooms a few minutes from the center of Barcelona.

Internships: 25 hours

In the classroom and on the open sea. Mandatory attendance at 100% during the practical hours.

Validity: Does not expire

The Deck Seaman certificate does not have to be revalidated.

How to obtain the title of Deck Officer?

Once the course is completed, to issue the Deckhand title, in addition to proving a period of boarding, the certificate of proficiency is required: Basic Safety Training.

Face-to-face classes in Barcelona's Olympic Village

Practices at sea in the Olympic Port

You will carry out steering exercises on a real boat, maintaining course in different wind, current and visibility conditions. Steering manoeuvres in accordance with RIPA. Positioning by position lines. Emergency drills. Basic equipment check before going to sea and damage repair tests.
