Requirements to obtain the title Yacht Captain
Have a yacht skipper/wave title
To register for the CI exam you must have a PI qualification.

Pass a theoretical exam

Deadlines

The Yacht Captain title is valid for 10 years.

Yacht captain mandatory safety and navigation practices 48 h
To obtain the CI title, in addition to being in possession of the PI and passing thetheoretical exam, you must do a practice that you can complete before or after the exam.
Navigation practices last 48 hours.
They are carried out in one session with a minimum of 36 hours in transit.
Through various exercises, other aspects of navigation are sought to be perfected, mainly aimed at crossing and safe navigation, in addition, each student will have to perform a full navigation watch during the day and another at night.
We leave Port OlÃmpic on a Friday afternoon heading for the Balearic Islands, returning on Sunday at the same departure time.
These practices are carried out on board one of our ships in Barcelona's Olympic Port.
YC sailing practices
If you have completed them with the PER or the Yacht Master, it is not necessary to repeat them, your yacht captain title will already be qualified for the steering of sailing vessels.
Complementary practices are voluntary and valid to expand the basic attributions you obtain with the mandatory practices.
You have to complete the sailing practices if you are interested in sailing sailboats, they last 16 hours and you can complete them in 4-hour daily sessions during the week or in two 8-hour sessions on a weekend.
Official exam in Catalonia

The APTE in the exam is valid for 24 months.
